ACCREDITATIONS
We have been assessed by each material supplier from a set of requirements established from the "Specification for Highway Works Clause 942" together with the guidelines document for the assessment and certification of Thin Surfacing Systems for highways (SG3), and also good practice.
The different material suppliers all have their own individual recipe mixes which have been assessed, approved and certified by the British Board of Agreement. When installing these materials Pavertec follow a strict quality plan as detailed in each supplier’s installation documentation and assessment.
The reason why the guidelines and assessment are so strict is because the material suppliers give a warranty on performance of the material and against defects in the mix. Due to the fact that previously many pavement failures could be traced to poor and lax surfacing techniques, "Clause 942" material can only be installed with a full defect warranty by approved contractors - Pavertec
The approval is based on a contractor’s sound understanding and application of some of the following examples:
WEATHER CONDITIONS/WIND CHILL/TEMPERATURE
Pavertec make a full assessment of suitable laying conditions, and maintain those records through the day so that in the years to come a full picture of site conditions are available.
EQUIPMENT
Pavertec supply high quality and reliable equipment. We can supply a range of pavers, rollers, bond coat sprayers , sweepers and chippers.
SURFACE PREPERATION
Surface preparation is paramount to ensure adequate bond, where hire of Pavertec’s sweepers with high pressure water jetting may be required.
JOINTS
All transverse and longitudinal joints must be cut and cleaned before a binder agent is applied, both to ironwork and joints.
BOND COAT APPLICATION/LAYING/ROLLING TECHNIQUES
The accurate application of bond coat together with the correct minimum material depths achieved and compacted using correct rolling patterns/temperatures. We maintain an on-site diary of:
Surface conditions
Weather conditions
Air temperature/wind speed
Delivery temperature of material loads
Traceability of each and every load
Surface texture depth
Joints correctly cut, sealed and compacted
